A tradition running for decades has been the ‘End of Year Art Shows’ at both the Southport College and KGV Sixth Form College campuses. Sadly restrictions have meant the shows can’t go ahead in their traditional format this year, but we are delighted to launch an impressive online showcase instead.

KGV Sixth Form College is to become a Centre of Academic Excellence with the college continuing to go from strength to strength.

We are proud to be the first school or college in Sefton to have been given a Bronze award for our work to make sure students don’t miss out on an education because they are young carers.

Congratulations to 2nd year student Olivia, who has just been offered a place at Oxford University to study English Language and Literature.

Ofsted Inspectors visited Southport College and KGV last month, as part of their nationwide monitoring inspection programme to assess how the college has performed during the Covid 19 Pandemic and we are delighted with their feedback.

The Government have now issued their official guidelines regarding the grading of national examined subjects (GCSE, AS and A levels & Extended Project Qualifications) for 2020.

King George V and Southport College welcomed Ofsted inspectors into college from February 11-14 2020 and we are very proud to announce the final report has judged their overall effectiveness to be good. Both colleges had already been graded ‘Good’ and now the latest and third visit confirms the merged college is also ‘Good’.

Our top performing A Level Maths and Further Maths students were entered into the Senior Mathematical Challenge, a national competition run by UKMT (United Kingdom Mathematics Trust). A fantastic nine KGV students came away with certificates and our top scorer Sam Cooper also qualified in the extended ‘Senior Kangaroo’ challenge.
