What started out as a small venture hiring out theatre lighting to a small number of venues has now diversified into an exciting events business covering the whole of the North West.
Moonlight Events specialises in Event Production, including event lighting and sound, offering packages for everything from a bespoke wedding to a large scale theatre production. You can hire equipment and services such as photo-booths, DJ's, festoon lighting, event photography and videography, and even donut walls!
His range continues to expand, with one of his most popular lines now being a full set of 3D letters and numbers, adorned with carnival lights that you might have seen at special occasions like the word ‘LOVE’ at a wedding or ‘21’ at a birthday bash. He also has a range of high quality marquees for protection from the ever unpredictable British weather at outdoor venues.
Scott spoke highly of his time at KGV Sixth Form College, “I feel like the course really prepared me for growing my business. We studied everything from event management to branding and loads of things which are key to running a successful company. I really enjoyed my time at KGV, the class sizes were small enough to be friendly and allow great contact time with the tutors who treat you like an adult. They do tell it like it is and put the ownership on you, so when you’re given an assignment, it’s your responsibility, which is what it’s really like working as your own boss.
It’s great to see my business expanding like it has and with national restrictions now coming to an end, I’m seeing a surge in bookings for anniversaries, birthdays, christenings, baby showers, weddings and proms. Without some of the skills I’ve developed on the course, I wouldn’t be where I am today and am truly grateful to everyone at KGV for helping me achieve this.”

KGV Business Student Starts Successful Company
Scott Mackin has been a KGV Sixth Form College student for 2 years, on our Business BTEC Level 3 programme. Now he has completed his studies he is building up his already successful business ‘Moonlight Events’.
