Psychology and Science
Psychology and Science student went to Manchester on a trip to the Northern College of Music. The visit included a lecture about how psychology can be applied beyond the classroom, including areas like magic, hypnotism and music. The students also got to meet and hear from famous British criminal, Noel 'Razor' Smith. Now an award winning writer, Smith talked about his criminal career as a bank robber and how it was only in prison that he learnt to read and write.
English Language
A-Level English language students visited the Juniper Press at The Bluecoat in Liverpool to enrich their learning about the history of English. They were given an inspiring talk by Ken Burnley and each of them got to grips with a printing press, creating their own unique printed message.
Maths and Further Maths
The Maths department took a group of talented students to compete in the Senior Team Maths Challenge, where their mathematical, communication and teamwork skills would be put to the test. The competition consisted of three rounds including a cross number puzzle and a team relay. Congratulations to Sam Cooper, Charlotte Miller, Toluwani Fabunmi and Rachel Appleton who represented the college and came 15th out of 26 teams.
