KGV Sixth Form College launch the School of Medicine

In September, we are excited to officially launch the School of Medicine in partnership with BioGrad Education and Mersey and West Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust.

School of Medicine

The School of Medicine is designed to support high-achieving students successfully pursue a medical career. Weekly extra curricular activities will run alongside regular studies to give those on the programme a real head start to build skills and career confidence in the medical profession.

Alongside BioGrad Education, pupils will benefit from a 5-day medicine course of their choice, a series of talks and seminars from expert professionals, and tailored UCAT university application support. This partnership holds particular significance as BioGrad founder Dr. Natalie Kenny and Dr. Jamie Paweleck are both proud KGV alumni!

Other benefits of this exciting initiative include guaranteed work placements with medical professionals, including Southport Hospital, inspiring trips and visits to aid students’ learning, and a dedicated progress tutor to support wellbeing and pastoral needs.

Our principal Michelle Brabner caught up with BioGrad to talk more about the School of Medicine, watch it here.

We are looking forward to launching this fantastic programme and equally excited to witness the positive impact it will have on our students, their university applications, and career progression.
