When applying to study at KGV, pupils from Southport schools are offered the opportunity to also apply for a brand new £1,000 King’s Scholarship.

When applying to study with us, pupils from Southport schools are offered the opportunity to also apply for a brand new £1,000 King’s Scholarship, enabling them to excel at the very highest level in their academic endeavours.

The primary objective of The King’s Scholarship is to recognise and celebrate exceptional academic performance among students in Southport’s high schools, inspiring a culture of academic excellence and motivating pupils to achieve their full potential.

Each scholarship is valued at £1000, given directly to the scholars in four equal instalments throughout the academic year and is designed to enable them to support their high achieving academic endeavours in whatever way they see fit.

Anyone in Year 11 at a Southport High School (Birkdale, Greenbank, Stanley, Meols Cop, Christ the King or Presfield) and is planning to progress to KGV can apply but to ensure fairness and transparency in the selection process, applicants must meet at least one of the following criteria:

a) Academic Excellence: Applicants must have consistently demonstrated exceptional academic performance throughout their high school education.

b) High Achievements: Applicants should have a track record of outstanding accomplishments in their academic pursuits, such as winning academic competitions, receiving subject-specific awards, or participating in advanced academic programmes.

c) Leadership and Extracurricular Involvement: Applicants should have actively engaged in leadership roles or demonstrated significant involvement in extracurricular activities, such as student government, clubs, sports, community service, or other relevant initiatives.

It’s a really exciting initiative that is a fantastic opportunity for our new students to grow and develop even more and we are so proud to be able to launch it. Want to find out more and apply...?
