At KGV, we launched the UAL Diploma in Performance and Performing Arts (Acting) in 2025, with our creative provision expanding in 2026 to include Dance and Music. This forms part of our Academy, a bold new initiative designed to provide high-quality, performance-focused training. This course provides learners with the opportunity to develop a broad range of knowledge and skills, with a strong emphasis on practical performance. As such, applicants must demonstrate excellent knowledge of both the practical and theoretical aspects of performance and performing arts.
Alongside the teaching of the UAL Diploma course, the successful candidate will work alongside other members of the creative arts teaching staff team in The Academy at KGV Sixth Form to devise and deliver the College Productions, which are primarily open to UAL Diploma students (all pathways – Acting, Dance and Music), but also the wider student community are welcome to get involved. Therefore, the successful candidate will need the creativity and vision to develop engaging and original work and will take a lead role in The Academy’s productions including the annual pantomime, musical theatre showcase and end-of-year performances.
The successful applicant will be dynamic, innovative and enthusiastic and will bring a fresh approach to teaching and learning that will revitalise and reinforce the experience for all students studying the course.
