LEVEL 2 PUBLIC SERVICES

This qualification has been designed in collaboration with public service
employers to ensure that you develop the essential skills, knowledge and
behaviours needed to succeed in a wide range of public service careers.

There is a mixture of mandatory and optional units and reflect the
expectations of employers across the sector. Learners will explore key areas
such as:

• the role and responsibilities of public services


• working skills in the public service sector


• citizenship, society and the public services


• crime and its effects on society and individuals


• employment in the public services


• public services and community protection.

Through practical activities, teamwork, and real-world scenarios, you
will develop transferable skills in communication, problem-solving and
leadership. You will also enhance their literacy and numeracy, which are vital
for progression into further study or employment. The course includes
opportunities to reflect on performance, suggest improvements, and demonstrate
initiative—preparing you for the dynamic and diverse nature of public service
roles.
