DANCE (UAL)
Our A-Level Equivalent UAL Dance course is first and foremost about dance training. Students take daily classes designed to build the strength, technique and performance quality required for success in the industry. Training focuses on jazz, contemporary, lyrical and ballet, giving dancers a strong technical foundation and the versatility to adapt to different styles.

More about the course
What will I study
The course emphasises discipline, stamina and professionalism, with regular rehearsals and technique classes that mirror the expectations of professional dance schools and companies. Students learn how to train safely and effectively, developing both their physical ability and their performance artistry.
Alongside technical training, students gain extensive performance experience through showcases, competitions and full-scale productions. These opportunities allow them to put their training into practice, refine their stage presence and gain the confidence that comes from working in front of live audiences.
Students are also introduced to choreography, where they apply their training creatively by developing their own routines and collaborating with others. This helps them to understand how technique underpins all areas of dance, from solo performance to group work.
Assessment is practical and project-based, focusing on the skills gained in the studio and on stage. By the end of the course, students will have completed an intensive programme of training that prepares them for progression into higher education, conservatoire training or directly into the dance industry.
