More about the course

What will I study

The course places a strong emphasis on live performance, with regular gigs, showcases and recording opportunities. These experiences allow students to put their training into practice in front of audiences, building stagecraft and professionalism while gaining a real sense of what it is like to work in the music industry.

Training covers a wide range of areas, including instrumental and vocal technique, ensemble performance, music theory and music technology. Students learn how to rehearse effectively, interpret different musical styles and perform with confidence, both as soloists and as part of a group.

In addition, students explore songwriting and composition, creating original material and experimenting with different genres.

Assessment is project-based and practical, focusing on rehearsals, performances and recorded work rather than exams. By the end of the course, students will have built a strong portfolio of live and studio-based music, alongside the training, confidence and experience to progress to higher education or directly into the music industry..
