The BTEC Sport Extended Diploma is an excellent opportunity to work hard and play hard. As well as achieving an excellent grade (95% high grades, 100% pass rate), you also get the opportunity to learn in a dynamic and engaging way. The BTEC Sport Course at KGV has a balanced mix of practical and theory that you won’t find anywhere else! Embedded in the course are a variety of learning and teaching methods and a range of assessments – no more tests, you are hands on and involved in Sport from the start!

The BTEC Extended Diploma is unique at KGV as, in the second year, you can choose optional units based on what you want to go on to further study, choosing to focus on a scientific route or a coaching route.

The first year units allow you to gain a foundation of knowledge and develop essential skills that progress from your studies at GCSE PE, thus enabling you to go on to more challenging units in the second year. This is when more emphasis is based on your development as an independent learner who is striving to be prepared for your chosen career.

Minimum of 5 x Grade 4 (3 from GCSEs) including Grade 4 in Maths or English or Merit in BTEC First Diploma in a related subject with a Grade 4 in Maths or English.

Sport Level 2 is available at our partner college Southport College. You can find out more about this course by clicking here.
