BTEC A LEVEL EQUIVALENT IN BUSINESS AT KGV
Equivalent to one A Level, the course covers comprises six units and covers a broad range of business topics from the fundamentals to recent topics such as internet marketing.
As a BTEC Business student, you apply your learning to everyday current situations, to initially demonstrate your understanding and more importantly to develop your critical thinking skills enabling you to accurately evaluate and analyse. Due to the great flexibility in the subject, students go on to a wide range of pathways following completion of the course – including progressing to University
WHAT MAKES A GOOD BUSINESS STUDENT?
Students will gain an advanced level of understanding of what it takes to start up your own business, in theory and practical terms, with the use of local Entrepreneurs as guest speakers to bring topics to life. With such knowledge and experience, you will be challenged to use elements of the marketing mix to develop your own marketing campaign that allows you to express yourself in a constructive environment.
You can choose to study this Business course as part of a mixed programme where you study 3 subjects from a combination of two A Levels and one BTEC A Level Equivalent qualification. You will need a minimum of 2 GCSEs at Grade 5 or above and 3 GCSEs at Grade 4 or above including Maths or English. You should also check the entry requirements for all of your chosen subjects some of which may require specific GCSEs or grades.

We are very proud of the destinations our previous Business students have progressed on to. A high proportion have gone on to study Business, International Business, Management and Law at prestigious Russell Group universities such as the University of Liverpool. Equally a good proportion have progressed to Higher Apprenticeships with employers such as the NHS and BAE Systems.
