APPLIED LAW AT KGV

Studying real cases from the first lesson, law at KGV will prepare you for a career in the subject. This course also allows you to progress to a wide variety of future courses and careers.
During your two years as a KGV Law student, you will have the opportunity to take part in our Lawyers of Tomorrow scheme in conjunction with Fletchers Solicitors & the University of Law. This unique scheme offers you the chance to gain some valuable work experience and ultimately earn a trailblazer apprenticeship with the firm whilst studying for a law degree.
WHAT WILL I STUDY?
Studying criminal law from the very first term you’ll end up with an in depth knowledge of a variety of crimes including murder and manslaughter. You’ll also be confident you understand how laws are made and the different roles of personnel within the legal system.
You can choose to study Applied Law as part of a mixed programme where you study 3 subjects from a combination of two A Levels and one BTEC A Level Equivalent qualification. You will need a minimum of 2 GCSEs at Grade 5 or above and 3 GCSEs at Grade 4 or above including Maths or English. You should also check the entry requirements for all of your chosen subjects some of which may require specific GCSEs or grades.
BUILD YOUR FUTURE
Over 50% of Law students at KGV go on to study Law at a wide range of universities. For the last three years students have been successful in being offered places at Cambridge University to study law and other popular destinations include Kings College, London, the University of Durham, the University of Leeds and the University of Liverpool. Many of these students go on to qualify in the legal professional and are currently practising as solicitors and barristers. Other students have gone on to become teachers, nurses, police officers, psychologists and doctors!
