In summer 2018 our students achieved some amazing results; maintaining our stature as Sefton’s number one specialist A-Level College. Some of the highlights include:
- 100% pass rate across 30 subjects
- 97% A Level pass rate with 73% of grades at A*-C
- 8 subjects achieved 100% A*-C, including Photography, English Language, Media Studies and Sociology
- 99% BTEC A Level Equivalent pass rate with 78% of grades at Dis*-Dis
- Subjects Business, Sport, Drama and Health & Social Care achieved 100% Dis*
- 98% BTEC Extended Diploma pass rate
- Over 50% of students achieved the top triple Distinction* grade

With another fantastic year of results we are exceptionally proud of what our students have achieved. This year, it gives us great joy to see 83% of our students’ progress on to University; many of them having attained places a prestigious Russel Group universities. Such exciting destinations include: Classical Studies at Kings College London; Chemical Engineering at the University of Manchester; and Maths at the University of York.

KGV is focused on ensuring our students move on to Higher Education or employment having developed the relevant skills necessary to succeed beyond College. Our breadth of enrichment activities and work placement programmes offer students the opportunity for personal development beyond the classroom. These additional extras enable our students to develop their work-related skills, have some fun and add that wow factor to their CV or university application.
David Prescott, who achieved A*, A, Dis* in Law, English and Business said: “My teachers have been amazing! Their passion for the subject really makes a difference in the classroom and the time they have given to help me outside the lessons has been astonishing.” David is now studying Law at the University of Lancaster and he has a very bright future a head of him.
