MUSIC TECHNOLOGY AT KGV

With previous results in the top 10% of the country, this two year, hands-on course will not only provide you with a Level 3 qualification equivalent to three A Levels, but also arm you with the experience you need to pursue a career in the Music Industry. From performance to marketing through to producing, engineering and live sound, you will develop a wide range of skills geared towards current industry trends and practice.

The College has brand new facilities including a fully equipped recording studio, mixing suite and computer suite containing state of the art equipment, computers (iMacs) and software. Using Pro Tools, Logic Pro and Ableton Live, you will be expected to produce work to an extremely high standard. You will be taught by specialists with a wealth of experience in the fields of music, performance and music technology.

WHAT WILL I STUDY?

You will study topics such as studio recording, live sound, mixing, mastering and performance throughout the course; using technology to develop your skills as a multi-skilled music technologist. You’ll also have the opportunity to apply your knowledge and gain work experience by helping to manage and setup for live performances, concerts and productions throughout the year!

BUILD YOUR FUTURE

There are a wide range of university courses available to those who complete this course successfully, both at HND and Degree levels. These include courses in Music Technology, Media, Multi Media, Business (Music), Performing Arts and other related subjects at universities such as LIPA (Liverpool Institution for Performing Arts), Huddersfield University and ACM (Academy of Contemporary Music).

As an alternative to Higher Education there are many opportunities for employment and self-employment in the music industry; previous students have gone on to work in recording, live sound, DJ’ing, performance and music composition.
