DRAMA AND THEATRE STUDIES

DRAMA AND THEATRE STUDIES AT KGV

Over the two years of the course, you will study two set texts and get the chance to make several theatre trips to experience professional performances. For your practical exams, you will work in a small group to create three pieces of theatre based on selected texts, influenced by a theatre practitioner; you will perform one of these for your exam. You will also produce a piece of devised drama in a small group again for the second part of your practical exam.

Your lessons will be based in our new Creative Arts Building, where you will learn and rehearse in our spacious Drama Studio and perform to audiences of up to 150 people in the performance theatre. As you make decisions about your future, expert staff will be on hand to advise you and to help you prepare your audition pieces for drama school or university.

WHAT WILL I STUDY?

You will explore the work of influential theatre practitioners from the traditional, such as Stanislavski, to the modern, such as Frantic Assembly Theatre Company. Set text study will be based on a range of texts taken from a variety of theatrical periods.

BUILD YOUR FUTURE
